Christ would have Compassion.......

That is what I kept telling myself when a lady asked me for a ride home from the Meridian Library today.
We had just finished lunch and I ran to the library by myself cause Jason was home. I was in and out in a flash. As I was opening the door to my van I heard a lady saying "Mam, Mam?"....
I turned around and a semi well dressed lady with a small carry on type bag (not totally unusual for the library when people have a ton of books)asked me for a ride to a home near Franklin and Main St.
There was no ill feeling, and I always trust my gut. Then the thought ran through my head...."Christ would have compassion". I said yes and she hopped in. (I never would have done this if I had my kids)
We had not even pulled out of the turn lane to get onto Cherry before I realized that I may have just jumped feet first into a very scary situation.
She was talking 90 miles an hour. I am not even sure what she was saying. That is when my back and shoulders started to get numb and I knew I was in trouble and I started praying. I asked Heavenly Father to please just get me home to my family.
At some point she said that she was a "National Geographic Undercover Agent". I could not tell if she was just wacky or on something. That question did not linger long because not too long after that she informed me that she had METH in her bag. That's when I could feel the tears well up. I was now white knuckling the steering wheel. All I could think of was getting pulled over and what would I say to the police officer? Would he believe me? I watch COPS. The driver always says they don't know the person, that they were just giving them a ride. BUT IT WAS TRUE.
I tried to be very aware of her movements and I never really felt threatened. But I was making a bail out plan if I felt her getting shifty. She then directed me to a "less desirable" part of Meridian. I was just praying nobody would come out of the house. Was I some sort of a bigger plan? She did not get out of the car. She just kept talking and talking. Not sure what about.
She eventually did get out. I drove away. Almost blasted through a stop sign. Got lost in a neighborhood because I was still numb. Finally got home. To Jason. To my kids. Safe. Christ HAD Compassion. On me.

My Sharing Time

This is my month for sharing time. I was worried about today though. It was ward conference and I knew we would have Stake Presidency there. I also knew my time would be short. We are teaching the children about the Atonement of Christ. How He died so we could return to our Heavenly Father. I wanted the kids to know the love Heavenly Father has for them. I asked them how we could measure that. How do you measure infinity?

I brought a Pyrex pie dish from home and a couple of cups sugar. I pointed out to them that sugar is teeny tiny crystals. Then I poured the sugar into the bowl and asked one of the teachers to start counting the sugar crystals. And what do you know? They could not count them. There were too many to count. I wanted the kids to have a visual about INFINITE LOVE. I thought it went really well. I hope so.

Family Dance~Ice Cream Social

Our ward is the best! Tonight we had an Ice Cream Social and Family Dance. And if you know me I was not there for the ice cream!

Here are some pictures of the girls and I all primped and ready to go! Taylor and I are posing just in case the paparazzi are there. ;)

Kisses and smooch

Sadness
Nattie got in on the action. I did spirals in her hair and all she kept saying was "Don't mess up my hair!"

This picture is a flash forward 10 years. Nat was done taking pictures and she let me know it via her facial expression. PUNK.

These next pictures I hope Jason always treasures. Daddy dancing with his little girls! They won't be little forever Jab. You better hold onto them while you still can!

Daddy and Natalie

Daddy and Taylor

Ok, now I would have loved for this next picture to have been a sweet and cute one. BUT NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jason HAD to ruin It with his IDIOT face. I HATE IT WHEN YOU DO THIS JASON! I HATE IT! I know hate is a strong word. But I would like to punch him in the FACE when he does this in EVERY picture.

The Bunny Hop. Classic!

Funniest~

So we have a ice cream social and a family dance tonight and I thought it may be a good idea to practice our dance moves. So we (N, T, G and I) we doing some crazy jigs. Then I went to change the laundry over. Natalie then stated that nobody was watching her dance. I then said that I could SMELL her moves from here and they
SMELLED AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She quickly replied,
"Well that could be my underwear or whatever!"

I think I almost pee'd my pants! Funniest thing I could have imagined her to say!
Thanks for the laugh Nat! You rock girlfriend!

True love~

"Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinite amount—that is the measure of God's love for you."God does not look on the outward appearance (see 1 Samuel 16:7). I believe that He doesn't care one bit if we live in a castle or a cottage, if we are handsome or homely, if we are famous or forgotten. Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He love us perfectly, Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely."

SURPRISE~

I have been working on a Surprise Baby Shower for my friend Tiffany for a month or so now! I had her coming over with the lure of decorating sugar cookies for Valentines Day. Her sweet daughter Elsie came too!
I had invited 12 of her friends (and mine) to be here at 10:30! I was so proud of all them for being on time! (None of this mormon standard time!!!!!!!)
When she and Elsie came in I knew she thought I was crazy when they saw this:

The spead of food was great! Spinach dip, Artichoke dip, cracker and french bread, fruit tray with caramel dip, lemon bars, brownies and sugar cookies! Yummo

Tiffany and I! Love ya babe!

Tiffany and Elsie

Lisa and Joleen! Glad you guys came!

Jan, Melanie and Trudy! You rock ladies!

Trudy, Joleen, Cyndi, Laur, and Tamalin (and baby Charolette)! Opps, I meant Cynthia and Laura! I was so happy to see all of you!

Erin and Zan! Love you ladies!

I guess Cyndi and Laur are camera hogs! (JUST KIDDING!) (Baby John, Trudy's son)

The loot! Tiff got such cute baby girl clothes! We also pooled for a car seat fund!
It really was the best feeling doing this for somebody else!
Baby Nora H. Dahl, we cannot wait to meet you! You are coming to a wonderful family! Oliver, Henry, Jack and Elsie will love you so much! And just in case your Daddy wins and you are named Claire, we will still love you!

20,160 minutes........

So here is my story~ I am a popaholic. I can drink Pepsi from sun up to sun down. And in the middle of the night if the mood so strikes me. It has no affect on me staying awake. Therefore, it had become a habit and a drug that I was no longer getting anything out of. The soda ruled my life. For a while it was my only friend. When we lived in Nampa, the girls were babies and it was winter so we did not venture out to meet people. The only driving I would do was to the Chevron on the corner to get my 64 oz of heroin for the morning. Yep, I would load up two car seats and drive down to my trusty dealer. The money that I have spent on pop over the years is a huge amount. I am too afraid to do the math. I did not grow up with soda in the house either. Contrary to my picture above. It just made me laugh. And cringe. It started when I worked at TCBY. Yogurt gets old after the excitement has worn off. That's when I started using my vouchers for Pepsi.

It has been 2 weeks since I have kicked my habit. 14 days. 532 hours. 20,160 minutes, not that I am counting.

It has actually not been that bad. I only got a headache at night before bed. I have tried to quit before and the sheer pain of it made me fail. Time and time again.

So to you dear Pepsi, go find a new home. Cause you ain't welcome hear anymore.

3 Months and the National Anthem

Yes, it's true. I am pretty sure I was just pregnant yesterday. And now THREE months have gone by!
Burke has added such a WONDERFUL spirit into our home. He is so calm, and sweet! The kids adore him. So do I! Here are some likes and dislikes of Bazurk! (Burke!)

Still loves his Soothie Bink. They are so ugly! But he loves them, and I don't mind the big greenish blue circle attached to his face!

:)

Here are some other LIKES:

Eye contact

Smiling Sooooooo big

A 6 oz bottle

Facing out, so he can see the world

Saying Goooooo (sometimes he adds a gargle at the end!)

A warm bath with a towel in the water to snuggle him (It's a trick I learned with the girls. I put a bath towel in the bottom of the tub and he lays on it. Then I pull it up between his legs and he feels comforted and safe.)

A warm towel from the dryer after his tubby (he falls asleep instantly)

Flexing his arms and I say "SO BIG!"

Being swaddled

Tummy time

:(

DISLIKES:

Being naked~he freaks

Getting bonked~he bawls

Graden being too loud in his face~it scares him

The wind in his face~he stops breathing and goes bananas

Overall I must say that Burke is my most "laid back" baby. Maybe it's because he is #4, and I finally have a clue? For instance: Last weekend he woke up every hour crying one night. Then the next night every 15 minutes. I knew it had to be an ear infection. Yep. I was right. In both ears too. He is on Amox. and doing great!

Here are some diaper pics of my sweet boy. I wanted you to be able to see the start of his chub. He also has eczema in his cheeks. It cleared up then came back with the ear infections :(

I shot this picture at Mt. View last night! The kids love the National Anthem, especially when they get to stand by Jason on the chairs! We won btw. Spanked em' actually. That is the big rival in wrestling. The boys did great!
